There are several types of funding available depending on a child's age and their family's circumstances.

Some children may be eligible for universal funding from the age of two. Families can check their eligibility by visiting their local Children's Centre, where staff will be happy to help.

Two year olds from working families may be entitled to up to 30 hours of funded childcare. Parents can check whether they meet the criteria by visiting www.beststartinlife.gov.uk

From the age of three, all children are entitled to at least 15 hours of funded childcare per week. Some families may also qualify for up to 30 hours of extended funding, depending on their circumstances.

In most cases, funding begins the term after a child's 2nd or 3rd birthday, so families will need to register with us the term before their child becomes eligible.

Children not entitled to funding or want additional hours can do so at the current rate of £6 per hour (£18 per half day or £39 per full day)
